When it comes to tea, you think of Kaga stick tea.
石川県のほうじ茶は茶の茎（棒茶）を焙煎したほうじ茶で、「棒茶」「棒いり茶」「番茶」と呼ばれ、石川県で親しまれています。長保屋では、昔からの『棒いり茶』の名前で販売しております。
『加賀茶業の流れ(米沢喜六 著)』によれば、明治35年頃に金沢市の林屋新兵衛が棒茶を開発し、その後、普及したといわれています。
県内数十社がそれぞれ独自の方法で棒茶を自家焙煎し、その味を高め合っています。 焙煎された芳ばしい香りと、自然な甘味をおびたさわやかな味がその特徴です。

オススメの淹れ方（水出し棒いり茶）
作り方は、水１リットルにつき約１０ｇの茶葉と水を入れ、冷蔵庫に２時間ほど入れます。
ティーバッグなら取り出すだけなのですが、茶葉の場合は、飲む前に茶こしを使うか、茶葉をお茶パックに入れてください。
